Mallorca, Spain

Truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. This was the #1 place on my bucket list for years and I finally pulled the trigger and went this past April. I was traveling in Paris and knew I had to take the short flight to Mallorca! I went in April where it was in the mid to high 60s. Mallorca’s busy season begins mid May - so it was actually really nice to get to explore the island without too many tourists or traffic. I will share my recommendations below and a few tips at the end…

Getting there: I flew right into Palma airport, which was so seamless and easy. Since I flew from Paris, I didn’t go through any passport control. I went straight to claim my luggage and it was there when I arrived (super fast!). This is the only airport on the island and is in Palma, the main city in Mallorca.

Beaches to visit:

  • Cala Lombard: This was my favorite beach, had lots of sand and space, and was just as picturesque as it looks on TikTok and Instagram.

  • Caló des Moro & Cala S’Almonia: Short walk next to each other. One has a bit of a hike down to the beach (limited amount of sand) and the other is just rocks with not much sand. Beautiful views, so good to check out!

  • Cala Figuera: Fishing port/town. Enjoyed this area and walked around the port. I had a great lunch at a placed called Pura Vida.

  • Platja De S’Amarador: Pretty beach with crystal clear water and a lot of sand to relax.

  • Platja De Portals Vells: Beautiful small beach

  • Platja del Mago: Amazing views. Good spot to sit and hangout.

  • Cala Fornells: LOVED this view and thought it was one of the most clear waters I saw on the island.

  • Cala Deià: Insane drive down to the water. It was high tide when I went but still worth it. There is a restaurant down there called Ca’s Patró March (cash only).

  • Port de Soller: Beach in Soller - great vibes, plenty of food and sand to lay out at.

Towns/cities to visit :

  • Palma: Palma is the main city in Mallorca. Lots of restaurants and shops. Definitely touristy, but lots to see and do. I also think this would be a good area to stay in to be centrally located to the entire island.

  • Soller: Enjoyed my time in Soller, especially the Port (beach) area. I actually wish I stayed another night there so I could have done some beach runs, explored more beaches around the area, and restaurants.

  • Santanyi: I loved Santanyi - it was very small and local. Every Wednesday they have a market and would highly recommend going as it was one of my favorite days.

  • Valldemosa: I think this was my favorite town in Mallorca. It was so pretty, local and very walkable. Every corner was beautiful. Lots of great cafes and bakeries.

Hotel Stays and Transportation:

Stays: At the beginning of my trip I stayed in an area called Cala d’Or at Hotel Cala d'Or. I was supposed to stay there the entire time, but then decided on day 3 I needed to switch it up for one night in order to see everything I wanted to and fit it all into my short 5 day stay in Mallorca. So I stayed in Cala d’Or for 4 nights and then I stayed in Port de Soller for one night at Hotel Eden which was the most perfect one night stay. It was close to Soller, a couple of beaches I wanted to visit, and Valldemosa.

Car Rental: I rented a car from Offugo.es - It was seamless and easy! I didn’t have to come in contact with one person getting to my car, unlocking it, and grabbing my key. Everything works from your phone! You can use my code NICOASHLEYYY10 for 10% off your car rental.

Additional thoughts: I loved Mallorca and cannot wait to go back. Ideally, I would have loved some warmer weather so hoping I can get back there during the Summer months!
